Fans welcome James Segeyaro
Former Papua New Guinea Kumuls player James Segeyaro arrived in Port Moresby and was given a warm welcome from fans. Segeyaro will play for the Australian Prime Ministers 13 team against the PNG side.
In the last few weeks, many Papua New Guineans took to the media as well as social media to criticise Segeyaro's decision to play for Australia and not PNG. Segeyaro told Australian media that his decision was based on the lack of respect to his father after all he did for rugby league in the country, and will pull on the Kangaroo’s jersey in this weekend’s Prime Ministers 13 match in Port Moresby.
The PNG Prime Ministers 13 Kumuls will take on Australia's NRL dominated side at the Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby under lights. The game will kick off at 7:00 pm on Saturday.
