Ipswich Jets end PNG Hunters Grand final hopes

Former PNG Kumuls player Rod Griffin was outstanding for
the Jets and got the  man of the match award. Jets defeated
PNG Hunters 28 -12
The mighty Ipswich Jets defeated PNG Hunters 28 - 12 infront of a large crowd at the BMD Kougari Oval this afternoon.

The Hunters were first to score through fullback Stargroth Amean, however, Jets showed their class by outplaying the Hunters and scored four tries in the first half to take the lead 22 - 8.

In the second half, the Jets scored early to extend their lead to 28 - 8.  Hunters Willie Minoga scored a consolation try on full time. Poor kick options as well as poor ball handling errors cost the game for the Hunters. 

The Jets won 28 - 12.

The Jets will meet Townsville Blackhawks at Suncorp Stadium next week. The Hunters are out of the finals, some of the players will be considered for the Prime Ministers XIII match against Australia next week.
