PNG Hunters Coach Michael Marum expects full hunting pack
PAPUA New Guinea Hunters coach Michael Marum says he is expecting a full squad at training today in Kokopo as they prepare for their qualifying final against the Townsville Blackhawks on September 13.
Marum said the extra week off would allow the side to freshen up adequately and get back some key personnel.
Forwards Enoch Maki (knee) and Brandy Peter (hamstring) missed the Hunters last three games but are expected to make the 19-man squad to travel to Townsville.
“We’re getting our final lot of players today (yesterday) and that’ll make up our full squad.
“We’ve been training since Wednesday when the guys started returning,” Marum said.
“We’ll have Enoch and Brandy for the finals match in Week 2.
“They’ve both been receiving treatment in Port Moresby and we expect they’ll be fit for the game against the Blackhawks.”
Lock Adam Korave, who received a two match ban after the Round 23 match against the Wynnum Manly Seagulls, will be available for the game at Jack Manski Oval.
The team will be announced on Tuesday and travel down to Port Moresby on Wednesday before leaving for Townsville. The National/ PNG Today
