PNG Prime Minister Peter O'Neill opens 46th Pacific Islands Forum
The future of Pacific Islands lies in solidarity and working together under the Frame Work of Pacific Regionalism.
This was stressed by the incoming chair of the Pacific Islands Forum and PM of Papua New Guinea, Hon. Peter O’Neill at when officially opening the 46th PIF in Port Moresby.
O’Neill said though the region is diverse in culture and tradition, working together can achieve all of our goals and this was demonstrated in the past with the cooperation work in addressing conflict issues such as the formation of RAMSI mission to the Solomon Islands, plus other important matters we have overcome.
However, one pressing matter that needs the corporation of all island nations is to address the impacts of climate change, which he says needs everyone’s input to form a solid stand on what pacific islands want be done when we meet with the rest of the world at the COP 21 meeting in Paris, France.
