Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop opens new classrooms for Kilakila Secondary School
Australian Foreign Affairs Minister, Julie Bishop with delegates from the Australian High Commission along with NCD Governor Powes Parkop and Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko today opened 12 news classroom for Kila Kila Primary School in Port Moresby.
Ms Bishop during her speech congratulated the PNG Government for its ongoing partnership with the Australian Government in assisting schools in the country.
She said these new classrooms will now provide safe and conducive learning environments for the students and teachers of Kila Kila Primary School and wishes for more developments in others schools and other areas of health and infrastructure in the future.
NCD Governor Powes Parkop and Moresby South MP and Minister for Sports and National Events Justin Tkatchenko shared similar sentiments and encourage students and teachers to look after the buildings for the next 20 years.
They also encourage parents to be responsible in making sure their children attend classes and coming to school every day as with 12 new classrooms now, there is no reason why they could stay away from classes anymore.
The School Administration and staffs were very grateful of the donation from the Australian Government and congratulated Governor Parkop and Minister Tkatchenko for their tireless efforts in bringing such developments to the school.
The School Administration will now only worry about renovating the staff room and all the old classrooms to match the standard of the new classroom.
