NASFUND: Kavieng service centre re-opened
Members in Kavieng were excited to learn that NASFUND was back in town.
The service centre was officially opened last week and was witnessed by dignitaries from the Provincial Government,business houses, representative of contributing employers and the public.
Chief Operating Officer,Warwick Vele said that the FUND was happy to bring back its services to the township and encouraged contributing employers and members to work together so that they can fully access the services as expected from us.
Mr. Vele said that the FUND’s objective is to change the mindset of people to save.
This is to also support the objective of BPNG’s role(Bank of Papua New Guinea)
to ensure many Papua New Guineans are financially empowered and included in services that are provided by Financial Institutions.
Speaking on-behalf of the Governor of New Ireland Province, Mr Demas Kavavu challenged the FUND to provide efficient services where it’s needed and encouraged the public to take this as an opportunity to save for the long haul.
Also present to witness the opening was; Mr. Stanley Masine (Town Mayor), Mr.Nolish Thomas (President of the Chamber of Commerce)and the Provincial Administrator,Mr. Moses Makis.
A team from the Matalei LLG in Namatanai led by their president Mr. Tobi Augustin travelled for five hours also arrived just in time to witness the opening.
A BSP representative who was at the opening said that they have been seeing a lot of their customers depositing their money into their EDA Supa Accounts at the branch and were happy to see the FUND re-open the branch to tap into this opportunity.
The opening saw a successful turn out with promising returns.
