PNG's Kickboxing star attacked

One of PNG’s kickboxing star and recently crowned WKF World Kickboxing Champion Mr Rickson “Powerhouse” Yamo was  attacked by mobs from Tari  this morning at 8-mile in Port Moresby.

Mr. Yamo said, he was on his way to town from 8-mile when the attacked happened. He got on a Public Motor Vehicle (PMV) Bus 16 around  9 am and was heading to town . 

"I was on my way to town from 8 mile last block.

When I was in the bus ,someone from Tari Hela Province was drunk came in and stood on my leg and I told him to move his feet.but he kept standing on my foot. When I push him away he went out of the  bus and brought all his tribes men and they fought with me in the bus. I could not do anything. All I was doing was protecting my self. This is what happens to me today" he said. 

He said, he nearly lost his life but did not want to get revenge and fight back. "I forgive them and move on. I don't want to fight back and bring myself down to their level" he said.

He  appealed to Port Moresby residents to take  extra precautions when visiting 8-mile settlement  as it is not safe there.
