Hebou PNG Barramundis take on Ireland in T20 Internationals

Hebou PNG Barramundis will take on Ireland in a Twenty 20 (T20) International three (3) match series starting tomorrow at the Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville.
The HEBOU PNG Barramundis are looking to bounce back in the T20 format after falling short in the Inter-Continental Cup (I-Cup) Round 3 match this week against the best Associate Cricket Country in the world, Ireland.
HEBOU PNG Barramundis’ Captain, Jack Vare is looking forward to the challenge of playing Ireland.
“The boys played well against them (Ireland) in the I-Cup this week and I’m sure we can take the same form into the three (3) match T20 series. They know how we play and know our game. In fact we beat them last time we played them in the ICC World T20 Qualifiers in Ireland last year. We need to continue to play positive cricket both with bat, ball and in the field. I’m sure they will be taking this series very seriously as they will be going to the ICC World T20 soon,” said Vare
HEBOU PNG Barramundis’ opening bowler, Norman Vanua is excited at the prospect of playing Ireland again after taking 5/59 in the I-Cup match this week.
“I am very pleased with my current form. The ball is coming out well and it is going to be another big challenge for us against a very good team in Ireland. I have played well against Ireland in previous matches, especially our last T20 match at the World T20 Qualifiers in Ireland where I managed to score some runs in the end to help us win,” said Vanua.
HEBOU PNG Barramundis opening batsmen, Lega Siaka is looking forward to putting on the coloured clothing in the shortened format at a ground where he has had huge success in the past, having scored PNG’s first ever One Day International (ODI) Century against Hong Kong in late 2014.
“It’s great to be here playing T20 Internationals at a ground where I have had success in the past. The facilities here are great and I’m sure there will be a lot of runs scored in the three matches. I am very confident that I can switch my form around and help the boys against Ireland at Tony Ireland Stadium,” said Siaka.
The first of the T20I Matches will take place tomorrow at Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville. Match will commence at 2pm local time.
