Juffa questions early campaigning
Oro Governor Gary Juffa has called on the PNG Electoral Commission to investigate reports of early campaigning in Oro Province as well as other parts of PNG.
Mr. Juffa said it was a cause of great concern that intending candidates have started to hold campaign camps, organising sports and church activities, and creating nuisance in public.
He said it was also causing disruption to the delivery of government services and programs.
“I am wondering what the Electoral Commission is doing about it. Are they educating the people about this and are they going out and investigating the candidates who are involved and taking them to task?” said Mr. Juffa.
He said it was illegal and PNGEC had to properly investigate this reports as they are already happening around the country.
