Hekari and LCD set for intense NSL grand final showdown
FOOTBALL fans in NCD are expecting a nail biting encounter when Hekari United host Lae City Dwellers in the final of the Telikom National Soccer League match at the Sir John Guise Stadium on Saturday.The match will see which team will be the champions of the Telikom National Soccer League 2015-2016 season.
Lae City Dwellers coach Peter Gunemba said it would definitely be a big game for both teams.
After losing 5-0 to Hekari United on the weekend, Lae City Dwellers are working overtime to fine-tune their game to meet the champions for the final battle.
“Our players are looking forward to the game against Hekari United, it will be a big game for us to defend the title” he said.
Coach Gunemba is mindful of how Hekari is playing and are looking forward to take them on.
The striking duo of Raymond Gunemba and Nigel Dabinyaba hold the key for the Dwellers after failing to score on Saturday.
Hekari United, on the other hand, are expected to retain the same team which defeated the Dwellers 5-0 to claim their 11th minor title.
The Hekari coach will be once again calling on the services of midfield trio David Muta, Wira Wama and Emmanuel Simon, including the fast finishing flankers Tommy Semmy and Tutizama Tanito with fullback cum striker Koriak Upaiga who were all magnificent during the minor premiership contention.
In the backline, Tekieta Rumuera, Felx Komolong, Daniel Joe and Otto Kusunan should keep close tabs on Lae strikers Gunemba and Dabinyaba.
