We are in need of funds : Governor Muthuvel
WNB Governor Sasindran Muthuvel is appealing to the National Government and the PNG Sports Foundation to step in and assist with preparations towards the staging of the PNG Games in Kimbe come November.
Governor Muthuvel said so far preparations are going well with 4 dormitories and 6 classrooms nearing completion phase to assist with accommodation for visiting athletes but provincial funds have already been exhausted.
He said the Government has promised a K10million from the 2016 budget and also K10million from the PNG Sports Foundation from the K57million surplus budget from the hosting of the Pacific Games, but have not released these funds yet.
Mr Muthuvel thanked the Nivani Limited for construction works on facilities so far and wants the Government’s assistance as his Government is in debt and cannot pay work completed by Nivani Limited.
“It is Our Games, PNG Games, it is not the WNB Games so we must work together to make it happen”, he said. PNGFM/ PNG Today
