Opposition condemns Police Commisioner Gary Baki's actions
The Opposition has described the actions of the Police Commissioner Gari Baki in shutting down the Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate as demeaning of his office as the Police Commissioner.
Opposition Leader Don Polye says this is contempt of court as a court order was already in place regarding the arrest of these senior officers and Mr Baki should leave that to the courts to decide.
Mr Polye is advising people of Papua New Guinea to stand up and fight for their rights and advocated against these actions of senior officers who decided to take the law in their owns.
“I am urging citizens of this country to conduct forum discussions and debate about these issues and put in light those leaders who are breaching the Constitution of our country which will help point us in the right direction in dealing with such bigger issues”, said Mr Polye.
