UPNG SRC petition speaker to allow Vote of No Confidence
After six weeks of boycotting lasses by the students of UPNG, the SRC on behalf of the student body has petitioned the Speaker of Parliament to allow and entertain the motion of the Vote of No Confidence (VONC) against Peter O’Neill.
“I am calling on the Speaker of Parliament Hon. Theo Zurenuoc to allow the Vote of No Confidence motion to take place on the floor of parliament and let due process of the Vote of No Confidence go through and let Parliament members decide the leadership of this nation”, said UPNG SRC President Kenneth Rapa
“It is now time to exercise our democratic right and we will be marching peacefully to Waigani however the peaceful march will depend on the letter we have given to the Peace and Good Order Committee which will begin at 10am tomorrow at the Waigani UPNG Campus” added Rapa
“I am calling on all parents concerned citizens, civil servants, NGO’s the different associations to join us and support us in this peaceful march and make a stand of our democratic right”, said Rapa.
Meanwhile an awareness on the peaceful march is taking place in various parts of the city with a number of PMV’s supporting the students in their public awareness this evening. PNGFM / PNG Today
