Oil Search Partners with Rugby League World Cup 2017
The Rugby League World Cup 2017 organising Committee made an announcement today that Oil Search will be a platinum partner in hosting the biggest rugby league match in the country.
To show their partnership to the Rugby League World Cup, Oil search will also be taking the Paul Barriere Trophy of the World Cup on a national tour.
Oil Search Managing Director Mr Peter Botten said this is an historic event for PNG as this is the first time that Rugby League World Cup matches will be played in country and Oil is pleased to make everyone feel part of the experience.
“People outside of Port Moresby will also have the chance to experience the spirit of the Rugby League World Cup when the Trophy visits those provinces”
RLWC2017 General Manager -Commercial & Marketing Mr Rohan Sawyer said the excitement and enthusiasm for this year’s Rugby League World Cup throughout Papua New Guinea is obvious and they are looking forward in working with Oil Search to deliver an event that will celebrate rugby league, inspire communities and show case PNG to the world.
Meanwhile, PNG Kumuls will play against Wales on the 28th of October; they will then take on Ireland on the 5th of November and USA on the 12th of November.
All three games will be played at the National Football stadium.
