Scribes News Divisions at risk of Cyber attacks
An ICT expert has told a regional media meeting that journalists and News Divisions are at high risk of cyber attacks.
Director of Whiteways System, Aale Raza said this when speaking at the 13th Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union symposium in Kula Lumpur, Malaysia yesterday.
He also pointed most media organisations are currently not prepared for any cyber attack, thus he encouraged media organisations to start taking necessary steps to prevent it happening.
Mr Raza appealed to organisations to set up systems that can detect any intrusion at the first instance, and also find ways to prevent it spreading throughout their entire system.
He also suggested for media organisations to decentralise their I-T operations as it will help them to shut down their system, when there is an intrusion.
Meanwhile, he has urged the media and the entertainment industry to prepare against an increase in cyber attacks
Mr Raza said, most of the attacks in the last two years had been directed at media and entertainment industries, with the latest being on Yahoo and France TV5 television station. NBC/PNG Today
