Tongan Princess Latufuipeka meets Tongan Community in Port Moresby
Port Moresby: After arriving for a short visit to present her credentials to Governor General Bob Dadae, HER Royal Highness Princess Angelika Latufuipeka Halaevalu Mata’aho Napua-o-kalani Tuku’aho met with descendants of early Tongan missionaries to Papua New Guinea and Tongan Community at Stanley Hotel on Tuesday 28th March 2017.
About 50 people mostly made up of students, early missionary descendants, expatriate Tongans working in Papua New Guinea and those married to Papua New Guineans met with HER Royal Highness for a small welcome ceremony in very Royal Tongan way to welcome HER Excellency to Papua New Guinea.
HER Royal Highness also took time to visit and lay a wreath at graveside of well-known Tongan missionary to Papua New Guinea Rev Sione Kami.
Princess Latufuipeka as addressed in her royal name becomes first Royal family member from island kingdom of Tonga to visit Papua New Guinea.
She is the only daughter and eldest daughter of Tupou VI, King of Tonga, educated at Queen Salote College in Tonga, with bachelor of business administration from Geneva International University, Geneva Switzerland and master’s degree in management and business from Australian National University.
Since 22nd August 2012, she was appointed High Commissioner of Tonga to Australia, until her arrival to Port Moresby presenting her credentials as High Commissioner of Tonga to Australia and Papua New Guinea
