Enga ready for polling

How to vote 


Polling preparations are well underway in Enga Province. The one-day polls are scheduled for July 4th. Provincial Police Commander, Superintendent George Kakas, said the security personnel are ready, and will be deployed between Hela, Southern Highlands and Enga provinces during the respective polling dates.
More than 300 security personnel were deployed from Enga to assist polling in Hela Province at the weekend.
These include 100 defence force soldiers from Moem Barracks.
Superintendent Kakas said the other 200 are local regular and auxiliary police personnel.
Mr Kakas said 100 PNGDF soldiers from Moem barracks, 18 KR from Taurama and 18 from Kerowagi are on the ground to provide security for the 2017 election polling in the Enga province.
PPC Kakad applauded the control from supporters during the campaign period in Enga for being so peaceful.
He said the peaceful campaign period in the Enga province was a milestone achievement in the history of Enga politics.
PPC Kakas strongly urged the people to maintain the same peaceful trend during polling and counting.
He appealed for a free and fair election and urged the people to take ownership of the polling.
He said a temporary liquor ban is imposed in Enga province during polling and counting. NBC/PNG Today
