MRDC sponsors Crocodile Prize Competition
The K10, 000 sponsorship from the Mineral Resources Development Company (MRDC) to the Crocodile Prize Competition comes at the right time to support the writing competition before it ends by the end of next month.
MRDC’s Manager for External Affairs Mr. Steven Evekone said the funding will be broken up with K5, 000 to go towards supporting the work of the Crocodile Prize Committee, while the other K5, 000 will be the prize money for the Women in Writing Category of the competition.
“We at MRDC recognise the need to improve literacy levels for people in rural areas and especially our resource project areas, who are rich in resource yet disadvantaged in many aspects of life, such as getting a quality education,” said Mr. Evekone.
Crocodile Prize is one competition that encourages students to write and be creative in their writing, thus the more they take part in such competition, they are able to improve their skills.
Chairman of the Crocodile Prize Committee Mr. Emmanuel Peni thanked MRDC for the timely support, saying they rely on such supports to run the competition each year.
