PNG LNG Kumuls are positive and in high spirits to win all 3 sets of their home World Cup matches starting with their World Cup opener against the Wales this Saturday at the National Football Stadium.
“Kumuls have never beaten the teams in our pool but are definitely looking forward to meeting the chargers on home soil,” said Assistant Coach Stanley Tepend.
Tepend said the team is not just as excited to play the World Cup in PNG but are proud to put on the PNG colours on home soil and want to create history for the country and its people.
Kumuls Nene McDonald who is expected to play a pivotal role in the centre said it won’t be any easy for the boys but with their composure in the camp, and assistance from former Kumul greats in Marcus Bai, John Wilshire and others, he anticipates a good finish.
James Segeyaro said he will take in all the criticism as a stepping stone for him to perform for his countrymen. He is said the Kumuls select side is by far the best and is confident they will perform to the best to raise the red, black and gold colours on high masts.
