Maki out as PNG Hunters prepare for Northern Pride

The 20 men PNG Hunters squad that will take on the Northern Pride this Saturday in Cairns were named this afternoon by Coach Michael Marum.

McKenzie Yei will replace Enoch Maki who was injured in last weekend’s match. Brendon Gotuno, Muka Peter Kulu and Stargroth Amean have been named on the extended bench.

Coach Michael Marum admitted that the game last weekend was not as good as they expected and they have brushed up those errors during training this week.

“Our performance last week wasn’t good enough, we dropped a lot of balls and there were so many missed tackles when the Jets kept on off loading” said Marum.
The Coach is positive and looking forward to a good match this weekend which he hopes they start off well in the first half and end it off well in the 2nd half also.

“We understand the Prides have some big forward pack and they also have some experienced players like Todd Carney but we will do our best and hopefully finish off well in the 2nd half”
