Is Sir Ipatas move to Stabilize or to destabilize O'Neill Government?

PNG Politics Commentary by : Sandy Talita

IS SIR IPATAS MOVE "NOT TO DESTABILIZE GOVERNMENT" OR IS IT THE OPPOSITE?. The opposite of destabilize is stabilize, which one is it?

Congratulations to the Hon Governors for the timely resignations from PNC, a decision applauded by the general public as the best so far albeit rather intentions for some unknown but appears cynical n contemptuous.

As elected leaders, each of them had their own reasons for their resignations. While we accept the reasons of others, I personally find it difficult n in disbelief to understand just why the Enga Governor has resigned from PNC.

According to his official explanation, he stated his "move was not to DESTABILIZE GOVERNMENT" so let's take it that; his move was to stabilize the Government. I also heard Hon Peter O'Neil confirming our Governors move n the move now was agreed to in 2017 during the formation of the Government. So Sir PI move has been sanctioned by PNC but why so late on the eve of the VONC?

Taking Sir Ipatas literally, let's look at the undeniable Facts;
1. Sir Ipatas abandoned PP and joined PNC to benefit from PNC election rigging plans
2. From the Government, he negotiated 2 x PP Ministries n made PP a important coalition partner.
3. If there was any better years for Enga n Sir Ipatas during Sir Ipatas 25 years of Politics, its the 8th & 9th parliament under PNC watch.
4. Enga has bagged more major projects than any other Province, with the exception of NCDC.
5. In terms of recognition, Enga stands tall among others
6. In terms of budgetary support n grants, Enga sits comfortably high above with the provinces who deserve higher allocations due to population n landmass on per capita basis etc
7. Talk about Bureaucracy, Enga has not been disadvantaged, we are running the Government
8. Taking about NEC & Cabinet; Enga has 3 ministries out of 5 seats, all of them are senior ministries, whilst some provinces have only 1 or 2 ministers.
9. Talking about Autonomy; Enga was among the first 3 Provincial Governments
10. If there was any Province frequently visited by PM, it is attracted Enga
11. Like twin brothers movies, the two Peters appeared inseparable even by death

So, if Enga was PNCs heart beat, is Sir Ipatas move to PP a decoy, a deceptive move, a cynical move, a orchestrated move, suicide, or ego (a show of pride, I got bolls, I can do it) Just what is it? I'll leave the intricacies to the proud Engan technocracies.

Many people think (pride puffed Engans) Sir Ipatas will put his hands up for the PM. While he can try (most of us got no problem with that) I personally think, he won't put his hands up.

Why?

1. He is not a party leader
2. He has given public statement after statement that he was voted in to be Engas governor not the Prime Minister, that's a undertaking nature has witnessed.
3. He can't short change chairs, the other twin brother is there n by association, he stands guilty if he tries to wrestle power
4. He has given his word to the nation; "my move is not to destabilize" so he can't dip his wick
5. Its un Engan to just get up n turn your back (after so much benefits n recognition)
6. Enga has so much at stake if Sir PI move is Deceptive
7. And more importantly; PNG NOW NEEDS A ECONOMIC /FINANCIAL WIZARD, A CORRUPTION FIGHTER, & GOD FEARING MAN.

Nevertheless, if the running under currents carry off any left sanity; here are the possible scenarios;

1. Sir Ipatas will assume the PP leadership

2. Then join alliance with other parties to vie for PM only if he gets nominated as the PM candidate

3. If other parties don't nominate Sir Peter Ipatas as the PM nominee (highly likely) he stands to return favor to PNC with the recently swelled/increased numbers to put back Hon Peter O'Neil as the Prime Minister,living up to his statement; "my move is not to destabilize Government."

SUMMARY;
1. IN 2017, PNG PRAYED FOR A NEW GOD FEARING, CORRUPTION FREE, & MASTER IN ECONOMICS (good manager)
2. INSTEAD, OUR ELECTED LEADERS GAVE US PETER ONEIL AND WE TOOK HIM TO GOD TO BLESS HIM, WHICH HE DID, AND HON PETER ONEIL HAS COME THIS FAR.
3) NOW WE THINK OTHERWISE & WE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT PETER ONEIL AND WANT CHANGE
4) IF ONLY WE PRAYED & REPENTED, GOD WILL LISTEN TO OUR NEW PRAYERS, AS HIS WAYS ARE HIGHER THAN OURS.

PNG IS A CHRISTIAN COUNTRY, BY ITS VIRTUES,
OUR ATTITUDE SHOULD BE & WE SAY; GOD, FORGIVE US, & MAY YOUR WILL BE DONE, this is our prayer.
