North Korea Leader Kim arrives in Russia for summit with President Putin
The 2018 APEC Leaders’ Summit in Port Moresby has opened a new page for the development of bilateral relations between PNG and Russia, Russia’s Economic Development Ministry said this week.
The ministry’s deputy minister, Azer Talibov, said in a statement that there was now a new direction set for the development of bilateral relations in humanitarian, cultural and economic spheres.
He said a team from the Miklouho-Maclay Foundation is already in Port Moresby for an expedition to foster business and social ties.
Mr Talibov said Russia and his ministry would provide support to Russian companies for business development, noting the great contribution of the Miklouho-Maclay Foundation that is largely a generator in the development of relations.
He said PNG had rich natural resources, a unique geographical location and there is a need to increase the pace of interaction with such a perspective region.
The first business mission will take place on May 13 in Port Moresby as a continuation of the meeting already held in Russia. AFP
