PM O'Neill tells Kramer to return to Madang

The Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has described the people of Madang as being in need of a leader now more than ever before and urged the local MP, Bryan Kramer, to go back to them.

“I think the Member for Madang should really go back to Madang. I think our people there need him, you know with the sorcery and things that are happening in Madang, I think they need his attention.

“They don’t need another cargo cult leader, they need a leader,” Mr O’Neill said. He said this when commenting on Kramer’s Facebook post rallying people to march to Parliament on the 28th of this month in support of the Opposition’s move for a vote of no confidence motion.

The ruling Peoples National Congress Party has also issued a statement that the O’Neill-led coalition government has been mandated by the people and to remove him, they have to go back to seek the people’s mandate in 2022 or through a vote of no confidence on the floor of Parliament.

The Prime Minister also alluded to Mr Kramer’s former public calls to stop the purchase of newspapers which he said was not successful.

“He has (also) called for a stop work before and that has not been successful. He has called for taxis to stop work in the country that was not successful,” Mr O’Neill said.
