PNG to face New Caledonia in International Friendly
Papua New Guinea men’s football team will pit themselves against New Caledonia in Port Moresby next month.
Papua New Guinea Football Association technical manager Paul Isorua confirmed that the New Caledonians are coming in well-prepared in June for the two International Friendlies against the PNG side.
Papua New Guinea did not play in the first FIFA windows in March and Isorua is looking forward for the sides first competitive matches.
“We thank New Caledonia Football Federation to accept our invitation for playing the two friendlies with us in Port Moresby.”
The two matches are absolutely a bonus and it’s a very big bonus. I know these two friendlies will be very helpful in our preparation for the Pacific Games in Samoa, he said.
The New Caledonian side arrive into the country on June 5 and plays PNG on June7 and June 9. The two friendlies will be very interesting as the two teams play entertaining and exciting football.Papua New Guinea head coach Bob Morris says they have a side which is composed of the 2016 OFC Nations Cup squad with few young players.
He is set to have in his squad one of the best line-ups with Auckland City’s David Browne, Toti City pair Raymond Gunemba and Nigel Dabinyaba as well as Hamilton Wanderers forward Tommy Semmy and the Komolong brothers— all expected to be available.
