Pacific Games: Pacific Sprint Queen has done it again
Pacific sprint queen and PNG's very own Toea Wisil has done it again when she defended her title in the 100-meter sprints to claim gold in a timing of 11 point 5 - 6- seconds.
Coming in second was Fiji who claimed silver, while Papua New Guinea's very own Leonie Beu finished third in a timing of 11 point 9 - 4- seconds to bag the bronze medal.
The PNG Men's team of Simbai Kaspa, Sapolai Yao and Andipas Georasi made a clean sweep to claim Gold, Silver, and Bronze respectively yesterday afternoon in the 3, 000 meters steeplechase.
The men's team again did a clean sweep in the 10, 000 meters with Simbai Kaspar claiming his second gold, while the Silver medal was scooped up by Siune Kagl and James Gundu settled for Bronze.
Ephraim Lekin claimed Silver in the men's 800 meters, while Donna Koniel and Jenny Albert finished second and third behind Australia in the Women's 800 meters to claim Silver and Bronze respectively.
Young Stephen Abraham won a Silver medal in the Men's 100 meters Para Event and has a bright future in this event.
