EMTV News Boss sacked
National Television Company EMTV has sacked it's News and Current Affairs Director Neville Choi, and appointed Senior Reporter Meriba Tulo as the acting News head.
Reports received by NBC News said Mr Choi was removed on allegations of insubordination, but this could not be verified.
In a statement, Media NiuGini Limited Deputy Human Resource Manager, Morley Iewago, said the management has decided to end Mr Choi's employment at EMTV, but never provided any explanation on the insubordination allegation.
The statement also thanked Mr Choi for his contribution, experience and leadership at EMTV for the last six years, urging all staff to support Mr Tulo as the new head.
Attempts to get comments from Mr Choi and Mr Iewago were unsuccessful.
