Polye labels PNG Prime Minister Marape's Statements 'Discriminatory'

Former Kandep MP Don Polye has described Prime Minister James Marape’s response to the opposition court challenge as “discriminatory”.

Mr Polye said the prime minister should hire a more mature, rational and less discriminatory person to write his media statements.

“We do acknowledge and see the points PMJM has raised,” he said.

“We appreciate it.

“But whoever is doing the prime minister’s media statements needs to be more mature, rational and less discriminatory.

“There must be no demarcation or discrimination between old leadership and young leadership.

“That statement was immature and insensitive.

“Quality world leaders – present and past – in the global community do not speak such rhetoric.

“Neither is youthfulness been used as a measuring yard for wisdom, love, righteousness or quality leadership.

“Such rhetoric put on the PM’s statement is not necessary; withdraw from such statements in the future.

“Such statements serve no political or socioeconomic purpose.

“It’s certainly not good for PNG politics.

“The Bible does not support discrimination between young and old leadership.

“Youth leadership doesn’t necessarily give wise leadership nor older leadership poor quality leadership.

“Whoever writes up those statements for the PM is chauvinist.

“There is no such thing as youth supremacy in the IQ or wisdom of man in PNG.

“Such wording being used or included in the Prime Minister’s speeches or media statements are not fitting and proper for Prime Minister’s Office to release to the general population.”
