ANZ-Kina Banks Crossover to affect Customers in PNG

Customers of the ANZ Bank in the country have been urged to withdraw enough cash for this coming weekend as the bank prepares to transfer its Retail, Commercial and SME businesses to Kina Bank.

ANZ PNG Country Head, Mark Baker says customers will not be able to use ANZ automatic telling machines or ATMs from 4 pm on Friday, September 20 until Monday, September 23rd.

He says ANZ Visa Debit Cards will not work from September 20 to the 23rd, while ANZ Visa Credit Cards may also experience some issues during this time.

Customers are also urged to make payments ahead of time to ensure they are processed.

He says ANZ branches will close early on Friday and reopen on Monday September 23 as Kina Bank branches.

Mr Baker says the bank understands that this will cause inconveniences, but it is a necessary step to take to ensure the transfer to Kina Bank is seamless as possible for customers.
