Four Players Withdraw, five added in SP PNG Hunters 2020 team

Three players – Willie Minoga, John Stanley and Sani Wabo - have chosen not to be part of the 2020 SP Hunters pre-season training squad while Garry Lo has signed on to play in France next year. Dilbert Isaac has an injured back and is awaiting medical clearance before joining camp.

SP Hunters coach Matthew Church gave this update in a Media Release today following the original 40-man squad who have been in training for the past two weeks.

Church has added Tom Moide (Central Dabaris), Steven Bruno (Kimbe Cutters), Israel Steven (Enga Mioks), Casey Dickson (Lae Tigers) and Brendon Gotuno (SP Hunters) to the squad.

“The players have passed medical tests and the first two weeks of pre-season training has been very intense,” Church said.

He said the four Test players – Stanton Albert, Enock Maki, Terry Wapi and Stanford Talita – will join the camp in the new year. The current squad will be in training until Friday December 20, 2019.

“We break for the festive season on Saturday December 21, 2019 and resume on January 6, 2020,” Church said.
