Air Niugini restricts Passengers Originating from China
Air Niugini has restricted carrying all PNG bound passengers originating in China to travel with them unless they are in possession of a medical clearance certificate issued by a certified institution in China.
According to Air Niugini General Manager - Commercial Services, Dominic Kaumu, as of last night, based on advice from the Health Department, Air Niugini has instructed its offices in Hong Kong, Manila, and Singapore.
Kaumu further stated passengers are encouraged to use the quarantine setups in these airports.
The national Airline is taking this precautionary measure following widespread International media reports that this airborne disease, 'Coronaviru' has claimed many lives in China and is spreading to other parts of the world.
The airline will do further risk assessment tomorrow on the virus and will further update.
