Foreigner Arrested in Bougainville
An Asian man has been arrested and charged for breaching the State of Emergency orders in Bougainville.
The man who manages the BCM Bakery in Buka Town was arrested and charged by Bougainville Police yesterday after they received a tipoff that he was still operating his bakery shop despite orders issued for all bakeries to stop operations during the SOE period.
Bougainville State of Emergency Controller and Chief of Bougainville Police, Deputy Commissioner, Francis Tokura confirmed that the Asian man was apprehended by police with over K1,000 worth of bakery products.
The man is now out on K1,000 bail awaiting his appearance in Court.
Mr. Tokura renewed a call for all business houses in Bougainville to observe the State of Emergency restrictions.
