Papua New Guinea Shutting Down International Flights
Papua New Guinea is shutting down international flights amid Coronavirus fears . Flights in
and out of Hongkong, Philippines, Narita, Sydney, Honiara, and Nadi will cease
as of next week Sunday.
Prime
Minister James Marape said in light of the COVID-19 or Coronavirus, there will
only be controlled entry from Brisbane, Cairns, and Singapore.
Mr. Marape said incoming passengers will
require medical certification to show that they've undergone fourteen days of
isolation adding that Jackson's International is the only designated
international airport for now.
He said the only four designated
ports where similar checks will be conducted are Port Moresby, Lae, Madang, and
Kokopo.
