Tourists Number declines in PNG
Papua New Guinea Minister for Culture and Tourism, Emil Tammur has revealed that the country's Tourism Industry will be greatly affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus.
He said the number of tourists travelling into the country is declining.
Mr. Tammur said the national government is yet to make a total ban on tourists travelling in and out of the country at this time.
But, he said despite this, the national government through the ministry responsible and the National Cultural Commission will continue to promote tourism activities in the country.
"The tourism industry is greatly affected not only in PNG but all around the world.
"But our government's position is to protect its citizens from this virus.
"The number of tourists will continue to drop due to the spread of COVI-19 around the world but we will still continue to promote tourism locally," said Minister Tamur.
