Carnal Knowledge Suspect arrested by Port Moresby Police
A man who impregnated a 14 year old school girl was arrested byPort Morsby Police at 5 mile today and referred to the Sexual Offenses Squad to be charged for commiting carnal knowledge.
The suspect in his early 20s from Nipa Southern Highlands province allegedly mobilized his relatives with the intent of paying compensation to the parents and relatives of the victim when police intervened and detained him.
NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N'Dranou strongly condemned the incident and warned that police will come down hard on anyone who resorts to monetary compensation as a form of restitution for any sort of serious crime. He said this incident alone was quite serious and therefore the perpetrator will be charged and prosecuted under the country's criminal justice system.
