COVID-19 : No new cases in PNG within Two weeks
Papua New Guinea has not reported any new cases of Coronavirus for the past two weeks.
Acting Health Secretary Dr. Paison Dakulala, told a media briefing yesterday, that from the 2,400 samples tested within the past two weeks from contacts traced, no new cases were detected.
Dr. Dakulala said the second test results for the three cases in Western Province and the one in the Eastern Highlands have all returned negative.
He said they are awaiting their third results before they will be cleared.
This is the seventh week of the State of Emergency.
Meantime, Papua New Guinean's have been urged to not let their guards down, as the country goes into two weeks without reporting any COVID-19 cases.
State of Emergency orders have been relaxed with curfews uplifted for East New Britain and NCD, and schools resuming, among others.
But acting Health Secretary Dr. Paison Dakulala said this must not stop people from seriously observing public health measures.
