One PNGDF Soldier detained while another on the run
One Papua New Guinea Defence Force soldier has been detained while another is on the run following the brutal attack incident yesterday in Port Moresby city that resulted in the death of a senior police officer.
The PNG Defense Force (PNGDF) confirmed this morning that of the two allegedly involved, one is now at the Military Police cell at Murray Barracks. He will be later handed over to police.
It’s also understood that a team from the military is now working very closely with the police to locate and apprehend the other soldier who is still on the run.
Meanwhile, a joint police and defense force press conference is expected to take place today to address this matter and give further details as to the next cause of action.
The two soldiers who attacked the Senior Police Officer were attached to the Defense Force Air Transport Wing (ATW) located at 7 Mile.
