Two PNG Defence Soldiers charged with Wilful murder of Police Inspector
Two Papua New Guinea Defence Force personnel have been formally charged on Wedneday with one count of willful murder for the death of NCD Zone 3 Commander Late Andrew Tovere.
Acting NCD Metropolitan Superintendant Christopher Tamari told FM100 that the two were brought in to the Boroko Police Station where they were processed.
They were then taken to the committal court where the warrant of remand was issued and were taken to Bomana Correctional Institute awaiting court mention.
He says the two were among three suspects who were involved in the assault of Late Snr Inspector Tovere last Friday night at the ATS settlement outside Port Moresby.
The third suspect is currently under investigation.
Details of the suspects were not released at this time.
