Air Niugini participates in Authorization Process

There's two women, so far, among candidates who have nominated to contest the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG)  president's seat in this election.

Former commissioner with the BRC, Ruby Mirinka, nominated around 12 midday BST, and an hour later former Central Womens Representative in the 2005 House of Representative, Magdalene Toroansi, followed.

Toroansi had also been contesting the presidential seat in the last two elections.

The list of 12 candidates so far:

1. Robert Chicka Tulsa (Indigenous Democratic Party)

2. Sione Paasi (Independent)

3. Nick Francis Peniai (Independent)

4. Peter Lemai Tsiamalili (United Bougainville Front)

5. Reuben Siara (Independent)

6. Simon Dumarinu (Independent)

7. Patrick Koles (Independent)

8. Ruby Mirinka (Independent)

9. Magdalene Itona Toroansi (Independent)

10. Ishmael Toroama (Bougainville People's Alliance)

11. Martin Ronald Miriori (Independent)

12. James Tanis (Independent)

Nomination remains open until June 23.
