AUDIT REPORT SHOWS K21 MILLION SPENT ON COVID-19 in PNG

Police Minister Bryan Kramer has announced that K21 million has so far been spent to address COVID- 19 in the country.

This is from the initial K23 million allocated to the Department of Health.

Minister Kramer said this when receiving an internal audit report from Pape Accountants and Business Advisors into the usage of COVID funds in Port Moresby today.

He said this report will now put to rest allegations of abuse of funds.

''I am pleased to announce that the audit report has been completed'', said Kramer.

The Police Minister also clarified that he and the Controller have no authority and control over the COVID- 19 funding and procurement decisions.

Police Minister Bryan Kramer clarified this during today's presentation of the COVID -19 SOE internal audit report.

Meantime, Controller and Police Commissioner David Manning have assured the nation that all funds allocated for COVID 19 will be accounted for.

He said this whilst commending Pape Accountants and Business Advisors for completing the audit report on the state of emergency funds.

Pape Accountants and Business Advisors were established in 2014 and specialise in providing forensic accounting services.
