Oro Governor Juffa calls on Government Dept Heads to Protect PNG's Interest

Oro Governor Gary Juffa has urged all government departments to act as a watchdog and protecting the interest of the country everyday to “take back” PNG.
Mr Juffa said every minister must be scrutinising their ministries and their government departments so they could function in the best interest of the people.
He made this statement during a media conference at Parliament House in Port Moresby yesterday.
He said many government departments were “very busy selling PNG”.
“There are too many government departments that are not screening people who they do business with.
They are facilitating permits and licences, giving away our land and resources,” Mr Juffa said.
“We can’t keep talking about PNG and how independent and great a nation we are when this is happening; we are turning a blind eye to it.
“Whether they like it or not, I will stand on behalf of my people in this great nation and I will keep reminding the ministers that they have the responsibilities to this country and our people to take back PNG.
“We must protect our resource, rights, interest and future of our people. We must at all times strive to design and develop the laws that will allow us to develop these resources in the country for our benefit.
“Each and every one of us should be thinking, acting, moving in such a way that we leaving with dignity, we establish standards, we respect ourselves, we are aware of the laws that we have on this lands and in this country.
We must abide by and those who move into this country must also abide by our laws.”
