PNG COVID-19 cases Continue to rise
Papua New Guinea is seeing increasing COVID-19 cases and deaths in the nation's capital.
NCD today, (Sunday 13th September 2020) confirmed one new case bringing the country's total to 511, and the deaths at 6.
National Pandemic Response Controller David Manning said in a statement this evening, the latest case is that of a 42-year old male health care worker in NCD who experienced a sore throat, fatigue, fever, and cough.
He was swabbed at the Paradise Private Hospital and tested positive for the virus.
NCD now has 300 confirmed cases, Western Province is second with 185 confirmed cases, Central 7; Morobe 5; East Sepik 3; East New Britain, West New Britain, and Milne Bay have two cases each while Southern Highlands, Eastern Highlands, West Sepik, New Ireland and Autonomous Region of Bougainville have one case each.
