Cancer kills more than COVID-19 Pandemic in PNG : Parkop

Hundreds of city residents this morning (October 4th) took to the streets of Amazing Port Moresby to amplify awareness and take actions against breast and cervical cancer, and other forms of cancer in the city and entire country.

Active City's Walk and Yoga for Life platform was used for this important cause.

NCD Governor Hon. Powes Parkop was leading the Walk comprising of staff of Port Moresby General Hospital, Black Swan International and other participants.

Port Moresby General Hospital team participated to raise funds for a new mammogram machine for testing.

Black Swan International team took part as well to launch their campaign addressing Family and Sexual Violence among their employees.

Speaking at the end of the program, Governor Parkop said Family and Sexual Violence and breast cancer kill more people than Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

He said Active City program partnered with the National Government-via the Pandemic Controller David Mannings-for the sustainability of Covid-19 protocols (Niupela Pasin).

Governor Parkop further stated that it was no good to do away with the key messages and 'Niupela Pasin' after millions of Kina was spent on them.

He said the Niupela Pasin will help to prevent other diseases if sustained or they become part of everyone's lives.

Doctors say early and regular checkout, and being on organic food can save lives.
