Port Moresby records one New COVID-19 case
Port Moresby has recorded another positive case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours.
A 17-year-old male who resides at the Moresby North East electorate is the latest case, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in NCD to 322, and the country’s total to 540.
At the time of testing, the case was experiencing muscle aches and shortness of breath. He was tested at the Port Moresby General Hospital and the results came out positive.
To date, there have been 25,955 persons tested for coronavirus. An additional 132 samples are pending laboratory results.
There are six active cases currently in isolation. So far, a total of 527 persons have recovered whilst death from COVID-19 remains at seven.

Globally, the total confirmed cases have reached 34,412,563 and the death toll stands at 1,022,833.
There was an increase of 262,008 confirmed cases in the last 24 hours.
In the Western Pacific region, a total of 12 countries/territories had confirmed cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total confirmed cases for the region to 617,678 cases and 13,396 death.
