2021 Academic Year Starts on Monday 1st of February, 2021
Papua New Guinea will start the 2021 academic year on Monday 1st of February as classes resume from elementary, primary, secondary and National High Schools.
This year's theme is 'Promoting Access to Quality Education and Training for All,.'
It was derived from the National Education Plan 2020 - 2029 which focuses on access.
Education Secretary Dr. Uke Kombra has reminded teachers not to send students home after the national government released K123 million to the department last Friday as part of its Tuition Fee Policy for the first quarter of this year.
He said these monies will be disbursed to elementary, primary, and secondary schools throughout the country while parents will only pay 37 percent of the component.
Meanwhile, according to the 2021 education calendar, terms 1, 2, and 3 will comprise 10 teaching weeks.
Only term four (4) comprises 11 teaching weeks and it will end on the 10th of December 2021.
