Wet Weather Expected to continue in PNG
The Wet weather in PNG is expected to continue in the couple of weeks and the general public has been urged to take precautions during this time of rains, strong winds, and rise in sea level.
The warning was issued by the Papua New Guinea National Weather Service revealing that the wet weather is expected to continue until March.
The wet season is also expected to be accompanied by tropical cyclones and a slight rise in sea levels.
According to the weather office, the current rainy season is the effect of the dry season last year.
Winds are also expected to be stronger and can cause damages to houses or trees.
Meanwhile, the office further advises people to chop down tall trees in their backyards. Also, report any power poles which may pose danger during this time.
Furthermore, people have been encouraged to strictly adhere to weather reports and refrain from traveling out to sea.
