More bridges to be built to Link Rural PNG
An additional 93 panel steel bridges will be supplied to all the districts and provinces in Papua New Guinea under the natural disaster and emergency program.
This is through a supplementary contract signed between the State, Department of Works and Highways and United Pacific Bridging Company yesterday.

The contract is worth K93 million and is funded by the National Government.
The original contract was executed by the Head of State, Sir Bod Dadae in March 2019 for the supply of 72 steel panel bridges at a contract price of K102 million, excluding GST.
The additional 93 steel panel bridges cost K93 million, an amended cost of K195 million.
Secretary for Works and Highways David Wereh said these bridges will be supplied throughout PNG to improve rural road accessibility.
The six year program is past its third year with 3 more years remaining to complete the project in order to meet the bridging needs of people, particularly in the districts and provinces.
