Australia Collaborates with PNG Power Ltd to Enhance Reliable, Sustainable Power Supply

 Australia continues its dedicated support to PNG Power Ltd in its efforts to curtail power outages and ensure a dependable and sustainable power supply across Papua New Guinea.

In a strategic move to address energy challenges, Australia is actively engaged in the construction of solar plants integrated with battery energy storage systems in Aitape, Sandaun Province, and Arawa, located in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville. These initiatives aim to reduce the reliance on diesel-powered sources and facilitate the provision of clean, reliable electricity for local communities. Thats according to statement released by the Australian High Commission in PNG,

The anticipated completion of these upgraded power stations is slated for early 2024, marking a significant step toward enhancing energy resilience in these regions. Moreover, a series of similar projects are in the pipeline, signaling Australia's sustained commitment to bolstering PNG's energy infrastructure.
