Sir Ipatas stressed the importance of maintaining calm and understanding, emphasizing that the unfortunate events of yesterday should not serve as an excuse for further destruction and violence across the country. He called upon police officers nationwide to uphold their constitutional duties impartially, without aligning with any political faction.

The founder of the People's Party parliamentary underscored that the repercussions of yesterday's events in Port Moresby should not persist today, as it is the ordinary citizens who will bear the brunt of prolonged chaos and disorder.

Currently situated in Wabag, Governor Sir Peter Ipatas is engaged in discussions with political leaders, business representatives, and the general public, urging them to refrain from property destruction and unnecessary violence. He emphasized that such actions would only exacerbate the suffering of ordinary citizens.

Meanwhile, in a stark contrast, the provincial capital of Enga continues to operate smoothly. The local populace has taken full responsibility for their town and province, ensuring that businesses and government services are functioning without disruptions. As the veteran governor calls for unity and restraint, the nation awaits further developments in the efforts to quell the widespread unrest.
