Sailosi Druma, Chief Executive Officer of the Papua New Guinea Rugby Union (PNGRU), expressed optimism about both teams' performance. "This final leg of the Challenger 7s Series is crucial for improving PNG's global standings. Both teams are determined to finish in the top 8, preparing them for the upcoming Olympic Repechage in Monaco," Druma told Kalang News.

Druma emphasized the blend of youth and experience in the squads, noting the strategy to provide younger players with opportunities to solidify their positions ahead of the Olympic qualifiers. He added that the country can also look forward to more rugby action with the Oceania Rugby Women's Championship taking place next week in Brisbane, featuring teams from Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, and PNG. The Oceania Rugby Men's Championship is scheduled for October, with the venue yet to be confirmed.

As the teams gear up for their critical matches, the nation rallies behind them, hopeful for strong performances that will pave the way to future international success.
