Australia Appoints Ewen McDonald as New High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea is set to welcome Ewen McDonald as Australia’s newly appointed High Commissioner, marking a fresh chapter in the bilateral relationship between the two nations. McDonald, a senior career officer within Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), arrives in Papua New Guinea after serving as the High Commissioner to Fiji. His diplomatic portfolio also includes a previous role as Australia’s High Commissioner to New Zealand, where he was accredited to the Cook Islands and Niue, showcasing his extensive experience in fostering regional ties.
